Denny’s Canada Announces Commitment to Serve 100 Per Cent Cage-Free Eggs

VANCOUVER, BC (March 23, 2016) – Dencan Restaurants, owner and operator of 60 Denny’s Restaurants across Canada, has announced a commitment to sourcing and serving 100 per cent cage-free eggs in all of their stores by 2026. The company’s decision to serve cage-free eggs is part of the restaurant chain’s dedication to the humane treatment of animals within its supply sourcing and its ongoing focus on quality, flavour, and guest satisfaction.

“This is an exciting announcement for us as we crack a lot of eggs,” said Bobby Naicker, President and COO of Denny’s Canada. “All of our suppliers are in accordance with the humane handling and slaughter of food animals, so this is the natural next step for us.”

As the original home of the all-day breakfast, Denny’s Canada serves more than 13 million eggs each year, including classic breakfast items such as the signature Build Your Own Grand Slam®, delectable Omelettes, and delicious Skillets.

This commitment is in conjunction with the evolution of supplier capabilities and part of a larger shift as Denny’s Canada continues its focus on food quality in 2016, offering guests more premium ingredients and enhanced flavours with each new season. Denny’s Canada has improved numerous menu items to offer guests higher-quality diner favourites including wild-caught and sustainable salmon, hormone and steroid-free pork and poultry, fresh-cut seasonal fruit and vegetables, 7-grain bread options, and many healthier breakfast alternatives such as gluten-free English muffins.
